Benard Agesa Chanzu holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Water Resources from UNESCO-IHE Delft, the Netherlands and Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Meteorology from the University of Nairobi.

He has over 25 years of work experience at the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) having worked at various technical sections in the Department. He has risen through ranks to a position of Deputy Director. He is currently in charge of the forecasting branch of the department.
