Explore our climate change services
The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) is at the forefront of addressing climate change impacts in Kenya. We conduct comprehensive analyses of climate trends and extremes, develop future climate projections, and produce detailed climate change reports. Our work supports the formulation of effective climate policies and policy briefs, and we actively participate in international climate negotiations.
As the host of the national focal point for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), we contribute to global climate assessment reports and keep the nation informed with regular updates on the state of the climate in Kenya. Through these initiatives, KMD is dedicated to enhancing climate resilience and promoting sustainable development across the country.

Projects
KMD is engaged in a range of national and regional projects aimed at strengthening climate change services. These initiatives focus on enhancing climate data analysis, improving downscaled projections, and supporting sector-specific adaptation planning. With support from partners, KMD is also expanding capacity to deliver user-focused climate information and integrating climate risk into national development strategies.
