Tuesday 27 Janaury 2026: Wetter-Than-Normal Conditions Expected Across Much of the  Greater Horn of Africa
The PR of Kenya with WMO this afternoon officially closed the Forum which was held in Nairobi.

In his closing statement, The regional outlook indicates a 45% probability of wetter-than-normal rainfall across much of the Greater Horn of Africa, including parts of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, central and western Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, northern Somalia, and Djibouti.

A 40% chance of near-normal rainfall is expected over western and eastern South Sudan, north-eastern and south-western Kenya, most of Somalia, coastal Tanzania, and parts of Uganda and Ethiopia, while drier-than-normal conditions are forecast for coastal Kenya.

Normal to early onset of rains is likely across most areas, with localized delayed onset expected in parts of Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Somalia.

Kenya Meteorological Department will provide the National Outlook in the coming week.
